TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN DRUG ARREST ON HWY. 70

On December 17, 2010 at approximately 12:14 A.M. Howard County Sheriff’s Deputy John Eric Glidewell performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding on Hwy. 70 east of Dierks.  The vehicle was traveling 70 miles per hour in 55 mile per hour zone.  The vehicle was a Dodge wrecker and the driver stated that he was enroute to Dequeen to repossess a vehicle.  Deputy Glidewell could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  The driver stated that he had a bag of marijuana in the vehicle.  Deputy Glidewell seized the marijuana and arrested the driver for Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana and transported him to the Howard County Jail.   The person arrested is Timothy D. Smith, a w/m, 32 years of age living at 200 Wildwood Country Rd.  Elpaso, Ar.    Timothy D. Smith has posted bond and has been released from the Howard County Jail.
