Tasers approved for Patrol Deputies

The Howard County Quorum Court recently approved the purchase of seven X2 Tasers for the Howard County Sheriff's Department.  All patrol deputies will be issued the new X2 Taser.  The new X2 is the most versatile Taser to date.  It allows the officer to engage two targets before reloading.  It is equipped with dual laser sights and a self contained LED light for use in low light conditions.  It delivers 50,000 volts of electricity into the target causing a complete override of the persons nervous and muscular system.  It is the most effective less lethal system in use by law enforcement today.  Deputy Todd Tallant is the Howard County Sheriff's Department Taser Instructor.
