Deputies arrest Betty Mowry on drug charges
On June 2, 2013 at approximately 1:58 A.M. Deputy Travis Turner stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 371 for a traffic violation. The driver gave Deputy Turner consent to search the vehicle. Deputy Turner found suspected methamphetamine and digital scales in the passenger’s purse. The passenger was identified as Betty Mowry w/f dob-1/14/1970 of Dequeen, Ar. Betty Mowry was arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail. Deputy Steven Wakefield assisted Deputy Turner with the arrest. While Betty Mowry was being booked into the Howard County Jail, Howard County Jail staff Misty Young and Tara Green found another bag of suspected methamphetamine on Betty Mowry.
Betty Mowry is being held in the Howard County Jail on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance with Purpose and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. No bond has been set at this time and formal charges are pending.
