Deputies make felony drug arrest on Hwy. 70 in Howard County

On January 25, 2014 Howard County Deputies Steven Wakefield and Travis Turner were assisting with a check point on Hwy. 70 near the Howard and Pike County Line.  A vehicle approached the check point being driven by Joshua Miller w/m dob-7/16/1976 of Little Rock, Arkansas.  The deputies noticed an odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle and had the vehicle pull off of the road.  Deputy Wakefield could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and asked the driver if there was any marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver stated that there was a “quarter sack” inside the console of the vehicle.   Deputy Wakefield and Turner searched the vehicle and found marijuana and a set of digital scales in the trunk of the vehicle.  Joshua Miller was arrested for Possession of a  Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver.  Miller’s bond has been set at 25,000 dollars.
