George Goin arrested on drug charges

On May 26, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. Deputy Travis Turner was patrolling in Dierks on Hwy. 70.  Deputy Turner performed a traffic stop on a small green car for a traffic violation.  When Deputy Turner stopped the vehicle he noticed the driver appeared to be trying to hide something.  Deputy Turner approached the vehicle and identified the driver as George Goin w/m dob-4/4/1964 of Lubbock, Texas.  Deputy Turner observed the driver’s hand shaking and he appeared very nervous.  Deputy Turner asked the driver if he was okay and if he needed to get out the vehicle and he said he did.  Deputy Turner noticed Goin drop something blue in the driver’s side door panel.  Deputy Turner asked Goin what he had dropped and he said a meth pipe.  Deputy Turner asked him if there was anything else in the vehicle and he said about an “eight ball” of meth in his pill bottle.  Deputy Turner located the pill bottle with suspected methamphetamine in the bottle.  Deputy Turner arrested Goin for Possession of a Controlled Substance: Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and transported him to the Howard County Jail.  Bond for Goin has not been set at this time.
