The Howard County 9-1-1 dispatcher received a call on February 26, at approximately 5:45 p.m. of a vehicle overturned in Dillard Creek at the Dillard Creek Bridge on Dillard Creek Road, south of Nashville. Deputy Timmy Floyd arrived and jumped into the chest deep, cold water in an attempt to rescue survivors. Floyd was unable to get inside the vehicle at this time and could identify that one person was inside and was deceased. Recovery of the vehicle by the wrecker service allowed Floyd and troopers recover and identify the victim as David Parker. Mr. Parker was the only person in the vehicle. It appeared that Parker was driving west on Dillard Creek Road when he collided with the bridge railing and his vehicle overturned and came to rest up side down in the water.
