On April 29, 2012 Howard County Deputy Steven Wakefield was dispatched to an accident on Corinth Road. The driver of the vehicle, Richard Gates, was sweating abnormally and acting very nervous. Richard admitted to the deputy about smoking methamphetamine. Further investigation by the deputy produced a glass pipe that the driver said he used for smoking methamphetamine. Richard was taken into custody and during the book in process at the Howard County Jail, a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine was found on his person.

Richard Gates, w/m, dob 11/06/1968, 3192 Hwy 84, Amity, AR is charged with:

Possession of a Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
