Deputies make more drug arrests in Howard County
On December 26, 2013 at approximately 7:30 P.M. Deputy Travis Turner stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 371 for reckless driving. Deputy Turner approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. Deputy Turner identified the driver as Anthony Reed b/m dob-12/15/1989 of Dequeen and the front passenger as Christopher Moore b/m dob-8/28/1985 of Dequeen. The driver admitted that they had been smoking marijuana in the vehicle. Deputy Travis Turner called for Deputy Joey Davis to come and assist him. Deputies searched both subjects and the vehicle and found a bag of marijuana on Anthony Reed and found crack cocaine and a loaded 357 pistol in the vehicle. Both subject were arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail where formal charges are pending for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Purpose and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms. No bond has been set at this time.
