Red Ribbon Week

This is the start of Red Ribbon Week in the United States.  The history behind the celebration of this week dates back to 1985 when a drug enforcement officer named Enrique "Kiki" Camerena was abducted, tortured and later shot and killed by Mexican drug dealers.  This week commemorates and renews the spirit of avoiding and preventing the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs and violence.  Please join the Howard County Sheriff's Office in celebrating Red Ribbon Week and helping us make Howard County Drug Free.
