MorphoTrak LiveScan Fingerprint Machine

The Arkansas State Police has provided the Howard County Sheriff's Office with a MorphoTrak LiveScan fingerprint machine.  Their goal is for every law enforcement agency to have the LiveScan fingerprint machine.  When an individual is fingerprinted his/her fingerprints are electronically submitted to AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) at the Arkansas State Police Headquarters which is a 24/7 operation.  The fingerprints are also electronically submitted to the FBI.  Individuals on America's Most Wanted have been identified several times within minutes by using this system. 

All of the jailors and dispatchers at the Howard County Detention Facility have been trained to use this system.
