Howard County Sheriff's Office Receives "Morgan Nick" Award

Representatives from the Howard County Sheriff’s Office attended a luncheon hosted by the Arkansas Attorney Generals Office, and AG Dustin McDaniel on May 30, 2012, in Little Rock.  Deputy Jade Hughes, Investigator John Eric Glidewell, and Chief Deputy Bryan McJunkins attended the awards ceremony and accepted a “Morgan’s Choice” award from the Morgan Nick Foundation for their efforts in the recent case of Zahkairi Morrison.  Each year the Morgan Nick Foundation honors a couple of cases where missing children have been safely returned to the rightful parent.

“The awards luncheon was an emotional event.  There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as we listened to guest speakers whom were mothers of children that were abducted, but “a safe return” was not the outcome in their cases.  We, as law enforcement, appreciate the “pat on the back” and recognition for a job well done, but we are not the heroes in these cases.  The brave children and their parents are the strong ones.”
