03/14/2013 Felony Drug Arrest |

Deputies Joey Davis and Travis Turner were working in the Tollette area on the night of March 14, 2013. While Deputy Joey Davis was driving south on Hwy 355 in Tollette a brown Chevrolet Impala pulled out onto the highway in front of Davis causing Davis to have to quickly stop to avoid hitting the car. Davis stopped the car and identified the driver as Chad Reed and the passenger as Nico Porter. Deputy Travis Turner assisted Davis with the traffic stop and a search of the vehicle by Davis lead to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana, a set of digital scales, a baggie containing crack cocaine, and several small zip lock bags. Reed and Porter were arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance: Cocaine With Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Controlled Substance: Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and taken to the Howard County Jail. Investigator John Eric Glidewell will continue the investigation and present the case to the prosecutor for the determination of criminal charges. Bond for Reed and Porter are expected to be set later today (3/15/13). Chief Deputy |
