Deputies arrest Charles Bufkin and Elizabeth Bufkin for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

On November 27, 2013 at approximately 10:42 P.M. Deputy Travis Turner was patrolling on Silver Road.  Deputy Turner observed a small red truck cross the center of the road several times and he attempted to stop the vehicle.  The vehicle continued to travel west towards Hwy. 355.  Deputy Turner turned his spotlight on and could see the driver moving around inside the vehicle.  After a short distance the vehicle stopped and Deputy Turner approached the driver and identified him as Charles “Joey” Bufkin.  Deputy Turner knew Bufkin had a suspended driver’s license and arrested him for that.  Deputy Turner saw a glass pipe inside the vehicle beside the female passenger’s foot.  Deputy Turner called for Deputy Joey Davis to come and assist him.  Deputies arrested Elizabeth Bufkin also and transported her to the Howard County Jail.  A black container with suspected methamphetamine was found on the person of Elizabeth Bufkin.

Charles “Joey” Bufkin w/m dob-6/16/1970 and Elizabeth Bufkin w/f dob-9/3/1971 of 223 Hempstead 27 S. Nashville, Ar. are being charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Bond has been set at 50,000 each for Charles and Elizabeth Bufkin.
