John M. Murphy arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance: Methamphetamine

On May 19th, 2014 at approximately 11:34 P.M. Deputy Steven Wakefield arrested John M. Murphy  w/m dob-11-19-1969 of Murfressboro for Possession of a Controlled Substance:  Methamphetamine.  Mr. Murphy had called the Howard County Sheriff’s Office earlier in the evening reporting that people were trespassing on his property located on Hwy. 371 and that someone had put a wire tap on his phone.  Deputies Steven Wakefield and Blake Eudy responded to the call but were unable to find anything wrong other than Mr. Murphy acting nervous and paranoid.  When Deputy Wakefield responded to the second call he asked Mr. Murphy if he had been using methamphetamine and Mr. Murphy stated that he had the day before.  Deputy Wakefield asked Mr. Murphy to show him that he did not have any drugs on his person and when Mr. Murphy emptied his pocket Deputy Wakefield found a clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine in a cigarette package.  Mr. Murphy was arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail.  Bond for Murphy has been set at 10,000 dollars.
