Melissa Sue Kinnu arrested on drug charges

 

On June 6th, 2014 Melissa Sue Kinnu w/f dob-9/21/1973 of Blevins was arrested by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.  Melissa Kinnu was wanted in Howard County on felony charges for Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance: Schedule VI and Schedule IV- both misdemeanor charges.  Melissa Kinnu was transported from the Pike County Jail to the Howard County Jail.

The felony warrants were issued as a result of a traffic stop that occurred on April 18, 2014.  Deputy Travis Turner was patrolling on Hwy. 70 west of Dierks and stopped a red Jeep Grand Cherokee for reckless driving.   When Melissa Kinnu stepped out of the vehicle Deputy Turner observed two small clear bags with an off-white substance inside fall out of the bottom of Melissa pants leg.   Deputy Turner shook Melissa Kinnu pants leg and another bag of suspected marijuana fell out.  Deputy Turner recovered the bags and searched her vehicle and found meth pipes and pills inside the vehicle.

Bond for Melissa Kinnu has been set at 25,000.  Melissa Kinnu has also been charged with a Parole Violation.
